MPD to host series of Town Hall meetings starting Nov. 8 in South Maui

The Maui Police Department will host a series of Town Hall meetings over the next few months.  The meetings were introduced last year by the then-new administration, as a way to gather information from the public and work with individual communities to address challenges and concerns.

Maui Police Chief Gary Yabuta and Deputy Chief Clayton Tom reviewed crime rates, prevention and enforcement activities in individual communities they visited.

The new schedule of dates, times and locations of this year’s Town Hall meetings  are as follows:

Kihei Town Hall Meeting – District VI

Date:     Monday, November 8, 2010

Place:    Kihei Community Center

Hana Town Hall Meeting – District III

Date:     Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Place:    Helene Hall

Time:     5:30 pm to 7:30 pm

Date:     Monday, November 15, 2010

Place:    Lanai High School Cafeteria

Time:     6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Molokai Town Hall Meeting – District V

Date:     Wednesday, January 5, 2011
