Surf is expected to be in the 10 to 18 foot range today along the north facing shores of Maui and Molokai. The National Weather Service continued a High Surf Advisory for both the North and East shores of both islands. Surf along the East facing shores will be slightly smaller at 6 to 10 feet for the face or the front of the waves.

Advisory level surf can produce rip currents and localized beach erosion. Beach goers are urged to stay well away from the shore break and inexperienced swimmers should avoid entering the water along affected shores.

Forecasters say the elevated surf is expected to remain stead tonight, then gradually diminish throughout Friday.

Tides: A high tide of 1.3 feet is expected between 3:47 p.m. and 5:05 p.m. today (Thursday).
