Road UPDATE: Lower Honoapiilani Hwy OPEN 12/12/10 8:30p

Lower Honoapiilani Highway is now completely OPEN. The road was reopened at 8:30 p.m. following a traffic accident that damaged a fire hydrant and flooded the road in Honokowai.

The Lower Honoapiilani Highway was closed at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, 2010. The closure extends from Kameeui Street to the Maui Sands Hotel in Honokowai. The closure is the result of an automobile accident that damaged a fire hydrant. The road fronting the Honokowai Beach Park is flooded.
