A HIGH SURF ADVISORY was issued for the North and East facing shores of Maui and Molokai until 6 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010.

Surf is expected to be 12-15 feet today on the north shores, and 8-12 feet on east shores exposed to the north swell.

The National Weather Service also released the following tide information:

  • High Tide of approximately 1.4 feet expected between 12:59 and 2:17 p.m. today.
  • Next High Tide of approximately 3.1 feet expected between 3:08 and 4:26 a.m. Tuesday.

The Maui County Civil Defense agency advises beach goers to stay out of the water and well away from the shore break due to hazardous wave action and strong rip currents.
