Earlier this afternoon, the Kahului First Hawaiian Bank was subjected to an armed robbery.

Bank officers and police are not revealing specific details, such as how many suspects were involved, and if the robbery was successful. It is also unclear what type of weapon was used.

As of 2 p.m., the First Hawaiian Bank in Kahului is closed, as police are currently inside conducting an investigation. Bank officers at the scene say that the branch is likely to be closed for the rest of the day, and are directing customers to the Wailuku branch.
