Maui Uninsured can now qualify for Prescription Drug Card
“I’m very pleased that the County of Maui has joined over 500 other counties in the nation in this important program. This will make a difference to so many uninsured and under-insured residents in our community who will now be able to better afford the medication they need,” said Mayor Charmaine Tavares.
The program is made possible through the National Association of Counties and is administered in partnership with CVS Caremark. It is NOT insurance, but rather a no-cost alternative to paying full price for prescriptions.
There is no cost for a resident and no forms to fill out. Discount cards may be printed by visiting the following link and typing in a zip code: www2.caremark.com/naco. Cards may also be obtained at the Mayor’s office, participating local pharmacies or from the Community Clinic of Maui.
According to NACo, participating residents across the nation have saved more than $14.3 million on more than 1.26 million prescriptions, with savings averaging 21.5 percent.
