MPD Hosts Town Hall Meetings in Wailuku and Lahaina

The Maui Police Department rounds out its circuit of community town hall meetings with sessions planned in Wailuku and Lahaina this week.

* Wailuku Town Hall Meeting – District I Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the Wailuku Community Center from 6 to 8 p.m.

* Lahaina Town Hall Meeting — Thursday,January 6, 2011 at 6 p.m. at the Lahaina Intermediate School Cafeteria.

The meetings are the last in a series held in various districts of Maui over the past two months. The Town Hall circuit was introduced in 2009 by Maui Police Chief Gary Yabuta and Deputy Chief Clayton Tom, as a way to gather information from the public and work with individual communities to address challenges and concerns. Discussion includes crime rates, prevention and enforcement activities.
