Maui remains under a Brown Water Advisory five days after flood waters prompted the notification on Thursday.

Hawaii health officials advise the public to stay out of waters affected by floods and storm runoff due to possible overflowing cesspools and sewer manholes.  Runoff can also carry pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals and associated flood debris.

If coastal waters are turbid and brown, the public is advised to stay out.
