The north shores of Maui and Molokai are under a High Surf ADVISORY until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2011.

Surf is expected to increase tonight and remain elevated through at least Tuesday with surf heights ranging from 10-15 feet.  Surf heights are the height of the face of the front of the waves.

A high tide tonight of approximated 1.7 feet is expected between 6:38 and 7:56 p.m. Another high tide of about 2 feet is expected between 5:39 and 6:57 a.m. Tuesday.

The elevated surf will produce rip currents and localized beach erosion along affected shorelines.
