There is a High Surf Advisory in effect for the East facing shores of Maui and Molokai until 6 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2011.

Rough surf is expected to be in the 8-12 foot range today, lowering to 6 to 10 feet tonight and Friday.

The National Weather Service issued the advisory saying the rough and choppy surf was generated by strong gale force trade winds.
