Maui Speed Hump Installation Begins Monday 3/28/11

The Department of Public Works begins work on several projects next week, including speed hump installation across Maui, and road resurfacing work on Lanai.

Speed Humps FY ’10

Contractor, JM Paving Services, LLC begins work to construct new speed humps at several Maui locations.  Streets include Alohi Place in Makawao, Aliikoa Place in Haiku, and Kehala Drive in Kihei.

Work will take 30 days to complete, beginning on March 28 and concluding on May 10, 2011.

Lanai District Resurfacing

Contractor, Lanai Builders, Inc. will begin road resurfacing work on the island of Lanai on Monday.  The project involves the installation of overlay asphalt, pavement markings, and the adjustment of utilities in the affected area.  Streets involved in the project include Gay St.-Kaumalapau Hwy to Eighth St., and Tenth St.-Fraser Ave. to Ilima Ave.

Work is expected to conclude on May 25, 2011.

Motorists are advised to proceed with caution in the work area of all projects, as there will be lane closures during construction.
