Parking Plans for Wailuku to be Discussed

Parking plans for Wailuku will be the subject of an information presentation on Thursday, April 7, 2011.  “Downtown Parking 101” will be presented by Andy Miller of Downtown Parking & Planning Associates (DPPA).  The company was contracted by the County of Maui to develop a parking management plan for the Wailuku Municipal Parking Lot and roadways within the Wailuku Redevelopment Area.

Topics to be covered by DPPA include:

  • Land use / Parking Supply and Demand Analysis
  • Basic Elements of Successful Downtown Parking Operations / Best Practices
  • Understanding Parking as Public Infrastructure / Financing Options
  • Impact of Parking Policy on Downtown Redevelopment Efforts
  • Summary / Next Steps

The presentation was coordinated in part by the County of Maui Department of Planning and Public Works.  The presentation will run from 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at The Good Shepherd Parish Hall 2140 Main Street in Wailuku.
