Shane Victorino bounced back from calf injury suffered during an outfield collision with teammate Ben Francisco on Saturday to give the Phillies a boost in Sunday’s 7-3 win over Houston.

Victorino came off the bench to deliver an RBI single and then stayed in the game for defensive purposes as the Phillies opened the season with a three-game sweep of the Astros.

On Sunday, Roy Oswalt pitched effectively over six innings in the veteran right-hander’s first outing against his former club. Slugging first baseman homered nd drove in four runs for the Phillies.

Oakland bounced back for a pair of opening setbacks to beat Seattle 7-1 on Sunday. Catcher Kurt Suzuki had an RBI single for the A’s.

Kansas City is off to a 3-1 start, including a 12-9, 13-inning win over the Angels on Sunday. Reliever Kanekoa Texeira worked one scoreless but rocky inning in Saturday’s 5-4 win, giving up two hits and a walk.
