VIDEO: Kris Acang, Maui Boy Working His Way Up

The key word in the title is ‘working.’ Many people don’t understand what it
takes to be a successful fighter. By fighter we mean trained, skilled,
good. By successful I mean someone other than your backyard friends
is willing to pay you to fight in an organized, reputable, marketable
event.

There is a lot that goes on in the life of a fighter who has set high
goals for his career and is actively working towards achieving those
goals. Like any goal, the choices that are made every day will either
bring a person closer to or further away from that goal.

The interview below with aspiring professional MMA fighter Kris Acang
may be representative of many more guys here on Maui, who are walking around
every day, doing what they need to be doing to work their way up the
fight ladder.
