Five for Fighting, Live at the Royal Lahaina Resort
By Kristin Hashimoto
Singer/songwriter John Ondrasik, better known as Five for Fighting, will be performing at the Royal Lahaina Resort on April 23, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. His Grammy nominated song “Superman (It’s Not Easy),” and richly evocative “100 Years,” received a lot of radio play. His album America Town, released in 2000, went platinum with over one million copies sold. His song “Superman,” became a kind of anthem after the 2001, attack on the Twin Towers in NYC.
This is the second and last of Ondrasik’s Hawaii shows. His first performance will be on the Big Island, at the Royal Kona Resort on April 21. Special room rates/packages are available for people attending the concert and staying at the hotels.
Ondrasik’s lyrics are thoughtful and sometimes rather melancholy. The songs are personal, introspective and socially aware. His performance at the Lahaina Resort is scheduled to take place on the luau grounds, under the stars.
