“In the true spirit of community, HMSA employees came together to share their aloha with the people of Japan. I am pleased to offer this contribution on behalf of our employees, the organization, and the HMSA Foundation,” says HMSA President and Chief Executive Officer Robert P. Hiam, in a statement today. Aloha for Japan is a coordinated statewide effort to collect donations for victims of the Japan earthquake and Pacific-wide tsunami. The relief effort is headed by Lt. Gov. Brian Schatz at the request of Gov. Neil Abercrombie.

HMSA is the largest health-care coverage provider in the state of Hawaii with more than 688,000 members and 1700 employees.
