With two stages of live music, speakers, vendors, food, keiki activities, and a local farmers market, the 2011 annual Maui Earth Day celebration takes place this Sunday at the Ke’Opuolani Park Amphitheater in Wailuku (behind the Maui Nui Botanical Gardens/opposite War Memorial Stadium). Gates will be open to the public from 10am-5pm. Admission is $7, and keiki are free.
The music lineup features some of Maui’s favorite artists such as Lei’ohu Ryder, FreeRadicals Projekt, Maui Underground, Divino’s All Stars, Omar and the Soultones, Haiku Hillbillys, Maesyn, DreamingBear Kanaan, and the Sounds of Jah. The Gerit Williams Band will be making their official debut. Mayor Arakawa, Rob Parsons (Maui County Environmental Coordinator), and Lorrin Pang (District Health Officer), will be joining us among other environmental speakers. Virtual attendees can watch a live internet broadcast at http://m.nko.org.
