The Maui Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) will play host to a panilo-style fundraiser to support its community theatre and arts education programs that serve over 45,000 Hawaii school children each year.

“Denim and Diamonds” takes place on Saturday, May 14 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the home of Jeff & Janet Baldwin at the top of Kula 200. By participating in the fundraiser you help ensure that Hawaii school children have exposure to theatre arts and music opportunities in their classrooms.

“MAPA is able to work with Hawaii schools to create and administer programming that teaches young people to express their creativity while at the same time enhancing their overall communication skills, ” states Board of Directors Member Gina Duncan.” Without MAPA, many of Hawaii’s school children would lack exposure to live theatre.”

Denim and Diamonds features live music by the Haiku Hillbillies, Leighanna Locke, Jerry Eiting & Anne Durham, plus special surprise guests. Café O’Lei will cater a three-course paniolo dinner accompanied by beer, wine and margaritas.

A silent auction includes a Beverly Hills Getaway including air travel and hotel accommodations, an exclusive Paniolo Package at Piiholo Ranch, and a one-of-a-kind gold and diamond pendant custom made by Topaz Jewelers.

Tickets for Denim and Diamonds can be purchased for $125 per person or $1,250 reserved table for ten. Reservations are required so reserve your space by calling 244-8760. Space is limited.
