Maui to Host Real Property Tax Sale Auction

The County of Maui, Department of Finance, Real Property Tax Division hosts a real property tax sale auction this month. Properties being sold have been delinquent for three or more years and have received a final notice of tax sale.

The tax sale takes place on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Kihei Community Center. It will continue on May 25, if necessary. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. with opening remarks at 9:00 a.m. and the auction starting at 9:30 a.m.

As of May 6, 2011, 10 properties were scheduled to be sold at the auction. Properties will be removed from the tax sale list if all taxes, penalties, interest and costs have been paid in full prior to the date of the sale.

As of May 10, 2011, there were four properties at the Harbor Lights Condominium complex on the list, one unit at the Kalama Terrace Apartments in Pukalani, a single unit at the Kihei Alii Kai, as well as individual lots in Hamakuapoko and Kahului.
