Kaanapali Accident Damages Bridge near Hanakao’o

An afternoon accident in Ka’anapali resulted in damage to the bridge near Hanakao’o in West Maui.  The accident was reported at around 1:30 p.m. on the Honoapiilani Highway.

At around 2:30 p.m., traffic was moving, with motorists utilizing one northbound and one southbound lane.   While the highway remains open, motorists can expect delays in the area in the interim.

State crews remained on scene at last report (2:30 p.m.) to clean debris from the accident.  Authorities say the accident involved a truck carrying a backhoe.
