Schofield Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

The Department of Defense today confirmed the death of a soldier from Schofield Barracks, Hawai’i.

Staff Sgt. Houston M. Taylor, 25, of Hurst, Texas, died Oct. 13, in the Kunar province of Afghanistan.

He suffered fatal injuries when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire, according to the Department of Defense.

Staff Sgt. Taylor was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, out of Schofield Barracks in Hawai’i.
