Customers in Paia and Kuau may have very low water pressure this afternoon because of a break in a six-inch waterline on Baldwin Avenue.

A crack in the cast iron line appeared yesterday, and crews repaired it; but another crack was found in the same line, and is being repaired today.

Crews are also cutting out and replacing a valve and joints on the waterline, with work expected to be completed by 4:30 p.m.

The crack is located on a line along Baldwin Avenue near the Hana Highway intersection in Paia.

Customers should call the Water Department’s 24-hour service line at 270-7633, only if a water problem occurs.
