BRIEF: Overnight Construction on Alahao Street

A wastewater facilities upgrade will result in the eight hour closure of Alahao Street near Kanaha Beach Park in Kahului next week.

Contractors for the Department of Environmental Management will replace a sewer force main along Alahao Street, resulting in the closure of the road from the Kahului side of the Alahao Bridge to Kaa Street.

The closure will begin at 10 p.m. on Monday, December 19, and continue until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011.

Roadwork is not expected to affect access to the nearby Kanaha Beach Park since the park is not open during the construction hours.

Amala Place becomes Alahao Street as you proceed east toward the Kahului Airport.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to obey all traffic signs and road crew directions.
