ReWailuku: A Call for Collective Creativity
By Sonia Isotov
Wailuku Town is reinventing itself and the Maui Redevelopment Agency is spearheading the effort with an innovative collaborative approach to community planning called ReWailuku.
ReWailuku is looking for the “collective creativity” of the Maui community that will provide direction for private investment, new partnerships, and capital improvement projects.
The Maui Redevelopment Agency, a commission under the County of Maui’s Planning Department and the Wailuku Community Association have come together to sponsor this hands-on design workshop located at the corner of Market Street and Main Street in Wailuku.
The public is invited to come to 1980 Main Street in Wailuku Town between January 23 and February 9 and check out the plans and overview of the whole town. Visitors can view the creative photography, posters, and planning documents and post comments, questions, explore new design ideas, and general have input into what Wailuku Town will look like in the future.
For more information, call Erin Wade, County of Maui Planner, [email protected], or call 270-5517.
