High Surf Advisory Replaces Warning

A High Surf Advisory has replaced a High Surf Waring on Maui and Molokai.

The new advisory is in effect for the North and West facing shores of Niihau, Kauai,Oahu and Molokai; for the North facing shores of Maui; and for the West facing shores of the Big Island.

Surf along the North shores will drop from the 18 to 24 foot level seen overnight to 14 to18 feet today. West shores will be in the 12 to 14 foot range.

Surf will gradually subside throughout the day, falling below advisory levels at 6 p.m.

Beach goers are advised that Advisory level surf conditions will produce rip currents and localized beach erosion.
