Accident Quickly Cleared at Kaahumanu/Mahalani Intersection

Maui police were on the scene of a motor vehicle accident at the busy Kaahumanu/Mahalani intersection in Wailuku this afternoon.  At 12:22 p.m., crews were working to clear the wreckage from the roadway.  A dark-colored two-door Honda sedan involved in the crash remained at the center of the intersection at the time.  A few minutes later, tow-trucks arrived to assist.  The incident resulted in a backup for motorists traveling Kahului-bound on Kaahumanu Avenue.  Details of the accident are pending release.
