The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued and extended a High Surf ADVISORY for Maui’s east shores until Thursday, February 23 at 6 p.m.

Very strong trade winds will blow in rough, dangerous surf.

Waves on Maui’s east shore are expected to reach 8 to 10 feet this week through Thursday.

A High Surf Advisory means that beach-goers are urged to stay out of the water and away from the shore to avoid being compromised by  rip currents and large waves breaking close to shore.
