Mayor Among Seniors Competing in Kuhio Day Softball Tourney

Maui County Mayor Alan Arakawa is among the players participating in today’s Prince Kuhio Day senior softball tournament in Wailuku.

The teams, made up of athletes 60-years and older, will take the field for a full day of festivities at the Iron Maehara Baseball Stadium.

Some of the visiting mainland teams have competed as far away as Spain and Puerto Rico.

Mayor Arakawa will be playing with one of the Maui teams, and will also provide opening remarks at 8:30 a.m.

The event is free and open to the public.  Concessions will be closed, so attendees are asked to bring their own drinks and refreshments.

The line-up is as follows:

9 a.m.:  Game 1 – Maui Braves (Sexties) vs Team USA White

10 a.m.:  Game 2 – Maui Harley’s Dragons vs Team USA Red

11 a.m. – 12:00 noon:  Lunch Break

12 p.m.:  Game 3 – Maui TJ Gomes Trucking vs Team USA White

1:00 p.m.:  Game 4 – Ka Newa vs Team USA Red
