Maui Condo Sales Up Sharply, Homes Level

The Realtors Association of Maui has released figures showing that condominium sales were up sharply on Maui as were condo prices for the month of March 2012.

March home sales on Maui stayed level at 80 home sold from 78 in February this year. March sales were down  from 89 homes sold one year ago.

The residential median home price dropped to $432,500 in March, down from $535,000 the month before and $450,000 a year ago.

The majority of home sold in March 2012 were located in Central Maui and Kihei. Median home prices were much lower in Central Maui where 19 homes sold for a median price of $372,000, followed by Kihei, where 18 homes sold for a median of $465,000.

February 2012 condo sales rose significantly to 128 units sold from 81 in the previous month. The largest volume of condo sales was in Kihei, where 36 units sold for a median of $289,950. That was followed by Napili where 25 units sold for a median price of $265,000. The Condo median price rose to $370,000 from $287,000 a month ago and $289,000 a year ago.
