Hana Highway Emergency Slope Repairs

The State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation will host two public informational meetings on the island of Maui to discuss upcoming emergency slope repairs on the Hana Highway.

The public meetings will include a presentation on the slope damage along Hana Highway at mileposts 10.4, 14, and 16, in the vicinity of the Kaumahina State Wayside Park to Nauailua Bay.

The damaged occurred during recent severe weather in March.

The DOT will present repair plans and accept public comments and concerns. Officials will also provide the community with information on repair and mitigation plans.

The meetings will be held at the following times and locations:

  • Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the Haiku Community Center from 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the Hana Community Center from 6 to 8 p.m.
