Elderly Female Transported to MMMC by MedEvac

Crews from the Maui County Paramedics Association on board Maui MedEvac and Medic 5 (Napili) were dispatched Tuesday afternoon to Honoapiilani Highway at Honokohau Valley (mile post 37.3) for reports of a 60-year-old female operating a moped that went over a guard rail.

The female was wearing a helmet but found 15 feet makai of the Honoapiilani Highway suffering from multiple traumatic injuries that required advance life-support care.

She was treated by ground crews and later transported by ambulance to the nearby Napili Park where she was flown by Maui MedEvac to the Maui Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

Fire fighters from the Napili station and Maui police officers assisted with the call.

No other details were provided.
