Electrical service has been restored to customers in areas of Mahinahina and Kahana in West Maui.

The outage was first reported at around 2:45 a.m. MECO officials say power was restored shortly before 5 a.m.

Areas affected included those bounded by Akahele Street, various Well facilities, the West Maui Airport, Lower Honoapiilani Road, the Falls of Kahana, Hoohui Road, Kahana Ridge, Honoapiilani Highway, the Haukoe Point Subdivision, Hui “E” Road and laterals.

MECO officials apologized for any inconvenience the situation may have caused and thanked customers for their patience and understanding.
