Authorities say the “Baidarka” boat is registered in Victoria, British Columbia and is owned by a John Hesford of Chilliwack, BC.

Authorities from the state Department of Land and Natural Resources say an insurance company was on scene yesterday trying to stabilize the vessel with lines.

The Molokai Ferry reportedly offered to assist in efforts to pull the vessel free during high tide.

The vessel had been moored over the weekend at the Lahaina Yacht Club.
