Lulu’s Maui, a family restaurant in the Kihei Marketplace, closed abruptly. Sources tell us that employees showed up to work one morning to find the door padlocked.

Customers can now find Longs Drugs Kihei open 24 hours per day.

Maui Economic Opportunity, Inc. (MEO) was the recipient of a $3,600 grant from the Friends of Hawaii Charities, Inc. in support its community Services Department-Senior Club Coordinator program.

The Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce’ Gintong Pamana Leadership & Scholarship Awards were held at the Maui Beach Hotel on June 13. Leadership awardees are Raymond Cabebe, Don Guzman, Vergel Lonzaga, Rafael Mendoza, and Duke Sevilla. The Scholarship Recipients (who will each receive $1,000 raised from the Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament) are Danielle Manegdeg Calubaquib (Baldwin HS), Kiara K. Galicinao (Lahainaluna HS), Jamal William Garcia (Maui HS), Jaydee Giron (Maui HS), Joey Ooka (Baldwin HS), and Ashley Ryan Vidad (Maui HS).
