A visitor was rescued from waters off of Central Maui yesterday after calls were made of a windsurfer in distress.

The incident was reported at 5:43 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2012, in waters off of Kanaha Beach Park.

When rescue crews arrived, they located the man about 1 mile offshore, and airlifted him to beach, where he required no medical attention, authorities said.
