Two standup paddle boarders were assisted to shore after running into difficulty in waters off of Kahana in West Maui on Sunday afternoon.

The incident was reported at around 3:30 p.m., about 200 yards offshore from Pohaku Park, at the popular surf-spot known as S-Turns.

Crews from the Maui Fire Department assisted the two to shore with a jet-ski tow.

Authorities say the two were teen females from Vancouver, British Columbia, who were guests at The Sands of Kahana resort.
