US Senate candidate and former governor Linda Lingle will be on Maui today where she is expected to gain the formal endorsement of the US Chamber of Commerce during an event in Kihei this afternoon.

Lingle is among the candidates running for the US Senate seat being vacated by US Senator Daniel Akaka.

Other high profile candidates on the ballot include Republican John Carroll, and Democrats Ed Case, and Mazie Hirono.

The event runs from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Goodfellow Bros., Inc. offices in Kihei.
