By Sonia Isotov
Grammy Award-winning songwriter and performer Melissa Etheridge returns to Maui for one night only at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater on Tuesday, July 24, at 7:30 p.m.
Etheridge will perform a show at the Blaisdell Concert Hall the day before, Monday, July 23.
Fans will remember Melissa’s popularity is solidly built around such memorable songs as “Bring Me Some Water” (from her debut album), “No Souvenirs” (from Brave And Crazy) and “Ain’t It Heavy” (from Never Enough), for which she won her first Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal.
Etheridge hit her commercial and artistic stride with her fourth album, Yes I Am, featuring the massive hits “I’m the Only One” and “Come to My Window,” a searing song that brought her a second Grammy, this time for Best Female Rock Performance.
Her highest charting release, Your Little Secret (#6 on Billboard’s Top 200), included the hit single, “I Want to Come Over.”
Among Melissa’s many accolades is a Juno Award for International Entertainer of the Year, an ASCAP Pop Award for Songwriter of the Year and the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2007.
