14 Vehicle Thefts on Maui July 8 to 14, 2012

There were a total of 14 vehicle thefts on Maui in the seven day period between July 8 and 14, 2012.

The incidents include four incidents in Kihei, and three incidents each in Kahului and Wailuku.  There were also isolated incidents in Lahaina, Lanai, Maalaea, and Napili.

Vehicles stolen included: (1) Plymouth van; (2) Toyota Tacoma; (1) Lexus ES300; (4) Honda (3 Accord, 1 Civic); (2) Ford (1 Focus, 1 Expedition); (1) Jeep Wrangler; (1) Yamaha motorcycle; (1) Jonway moped; and (1) Gem electric vehicle.

Eight of the stolen vehicles have since been recovered.

• Monday, July 9, 2012, 8 p.m.:  Kaulana Street.  1992 White Toyota Tacoma.  RECOVERED.
• Monday, July 9, 2012, 7:30 a.m.:  Keopuolani Park Drive.  1994 White Lexis ES300, Lic# FCJ977, VIN# JT8GK13T5R0014847.

Kihei:

• Sunday, July 8, 2012, 12:30 a.m.:  Uwapo Road, at the Kihei Villages visitor parking.  1994 White Honda Civic, Lic# HUC331.
• Sunday, July 8, 2012, 4 p.m.:  South Kihei Road at the Kihei Shores.  2007 Maroon Ford Focus. RECOVERED.
• Tuesday, July 10, 2012, 11 p.m.:  South Kihei Road at the Azeka Mauka center parking lot.  1991 Silver Honda Accord, Lic# MME640, VIN# JHMCB7685MC010541.
• Wednesday, July 11, 2012, 11:11 a.m.:  Ailana Place.  1994 Gold Honda Accord. RECOVERED.

Lahaina:

• Saturday, July 14, 2012, 1:10 p.m.:  Wainee Street fronting Aina Nalu.  2012 Black/Gray Jonway Group Co. moped.  RECOVERED.

Lanai:

• Saturday, July 14, 2012, 12:38 a.m.:  Akolu Street.  White Gem Electric Vehicle.  RECOVERED.

Maalaea:

• Saturday, July 14, 2012, 12:25 a.m.:  Maalaea Road at the Maalaea Harbor Shops parking lot.  1995 White Honda Accord, Lic# MGH370, VIN# JHMCD5634SC041666.

Napili:

• Monday, July 9, 2012, 10:10 p.m.:  Kupele Place.  1999 Blue Jeep Wrangler. RECOVERED.

Wailuku:

• Wednesday, July 11, 2012, 9:55 p.m.:  Ka’ahumanu Avenue.  2006 White Toyota Tacoma, Lic# 910MDB, VIN# 5TETX22N46Z239492.
• Friday, July 13, 2012, 3:14 p.m.:  Main Street at the Wailuku Townhouse apartments.  1998 White Yamaha motorcycle. RECOVERED.
• Saturday, July 14, 2012, 12 p.m.:  Lower Main Street.  1992 White Ford Expedition.  RECOVERED.
