Armstrong Pacific Completes Renovation of Hyatt Regency Lobby

Armstrong Pacific, a Hawaii-based general contracting firm under Armstrong Companies, recently completed a $1.7 million renovation for the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa’s lobby and public areas.

“The lobby updates have truly transformed the arrival experience,” said Michael Jokovich, the general manager of Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, in a written statement.

The updated lobby area uses a combination of natural colors – teak, black walnut, and stone – with modern touches – 18-foot water-jet cut aluminum panels – to create a dramatic arrival experience for guests, while maintaining a distinctly Hawaiian ambiance.

Three elegant chandeliers accent high ceilings above the main entry and reception area, while stone-clad columns, three-dimensional wall panels, colorful murals, teak and African mahogany frame the space.

New pod-style registration and concierge desks create an intimate, yet elegant reception environment. An enhanced observation deck features curved glass railings and new stone flooring over ocean views.

“The Hyatt is a beautiful property that has undergone several renovations in the last year to make it a truly remarkable place,” said Kevin Keller, the senior project manager for Armstrong Pacific and a Maui resident.

“The resort is a luxury vacation destination and we’re pleased that the renovations are enhancing the visitor experience.”

This is the second project completed at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa by an Armstrong company. In January 2011, Armstrong Builders completed a $3-million renovation of the resort’s Japengo restaurant, which earned them the Grand Award in the BIA’s Renaissance Building & Remodeling Awards in the Commercial Remodeling Projects from 5,000 to 7,500 sq. ft. category.
