A solemn ceremony was held at the Kahului Fire Station on Tuesday in remembrance of the first responders and civilians that were killed as a result of the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon 11 years ago.

“Our hearts and prayers are with the families and friends of those whose lives were lost on September 11, 2001, as well as those survivors who continue to suffer physical or related trauma,” said Maui Fire Captain Paul Haake in a statement.
