Crews Fight Small Brush Fire in Puamana

Maui firefighters responded to a small brush fire on the mauka side of the Honoapiilani Highway in Puamana on Sunday afternoon.

The fire was reported at 2:55 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2012, and burned an estimated 1,500 square feet before being brought under control at 3:06 p.m., officials said.

Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga said the fire was extinguished at 3:48 p.m., and the cause was undetermined.

Crews responding to the incident included the Maui Fire Department’s Engine 3, Ladder 3, and Tanker 3.

There were no damages reported.
