BRIEF: Safety Issues Force Closure of Kalakupua Playground

The Maui Parks Department announced the closure of the Kalakupua Playground at the 4th Marine Division Park in Haiku due to safety reasons.
County officials say repair and replacement options of playground equipment is being evaluated during the closure period.

Parks officials expressed appreciation for the community’s patience during the assessment and closure.
There was no estimated time given on when the facility would reopen.
