A&B Helps Salvation Army Homeless Facility

A recent donation from the Alexander & Baldwin Foundation was used to improve facilities for the homeless at The Salvation Army in Kahului.

The $5,000 A&B grant was used to obtain a portable bathroom and shower trailer to serve the homeless population that utilizes The Salvation Army’s William Booth Safe Haven facility in Central Maui.

Major Brian West, the coordinator for The Salvation Army on Maui said the new addition vastly improves the hygienic facilities for program participants.

Over the last 20 years, Alexander & Baldwin Foundation has donated more than $200,000 to The Salvation Army and its various programs statewide.

Alexander & Baldwin is the parent company of other business operations in the islands including A&B Properties, Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company/Maui Brand Sugar, Kauai Coffee Company and Matson Navigation Company.
