A wind advisory was issued for the island 0f Kahoʻolawe until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012.

Forecasters from the National Weather Service say strong east-northeast winds will be blowing at 20 to 35 mph, with localized gusts of over 45 mph, from noon through early this evening.

As a precaution, the public is advised to use extra caution as winds this strong can bring down tree branches.
