The final day to submit any new applications to be placed on the Upcountry Water Meter Priority list is on Dec. 31, 2012.

The reminder was issued today by officials with the Maui Department of Water Supply.

Under a revision to the Maui County Code, established in 2012, amendments were made that establish a “firm and definitive priority list as of January 1, 2013, with no additions thereafter.”

Applicants desiring new or additional water service for premises not on the priority list as of Jan. 1, 2013 would have to wait until all requests on the priority list have been served and/or deleted from consideration.

The application to request water service Upcountry is available online at, on the Engineering – Forms page.

Applications should be dropped off to the Engineering Division of the DWS, located at 200 South High Street, Kalana O Maui Building, 5th Floor in Wailuku; faxed to (808) 270-7833; or mailed in and postmarked no later than Dec. 31, 2012.

Customers can call 270-7835 with any questions during working hours.
