$50M for Kahului Airport Road Included in Funding Release

The governor today announced the release of $50 million for a portion of the Kahului Airport Access Road on Maui, and $600,000 for the demolition and relocation of the Kahului Harbor District Office.

The funds are part of a larger $113 million funding release for various capital improvement projects at airports and harbors throughout Hawai’i.

“These important projects will improve the airport experience across the state – from Hilo to Lihue – as well as the efficiency and capacity at our harbors,” said Gov. Neil Abercrombie. “Funding for many of the Honolulu Harbor improvements are part of a larger New Day Work Project that will increase harbor shipping capacity,” he said.
