Liko A’e Native Hawaiian Leadership Scholarship Accepting Applications

Applications are now being accepted for the Liko A’e Native Hawaiian Leadership Program at the University of Hawai’i Maui College.

The scholarship program is geared toward applicants of Hawaiian ancestry seeking to pursue college degrees from accredited schools throughout Hawai’i and US. Funding was made possible through the US Department of Education, Title VII Native Hawaiian Education Act and the Office of Hawaiian Affairs. Native Hawaiian students pursuing vocational and higher education degrees from associates to doctorates are eligible to apply for the Liko A’e funds.

Since 2003, Liko A’e has successfully supported more than 2,000 college students pursuing a diverse range of degree programs.

This year, in addition to providing financial scholarships, Liko A’e’s Leadership Program will require students to participate in mentoring programs, focused community service projects, and online community building.

Applicants will be required to answer two essay questions, submit their Student Aid Report from the FAFSA and an official transcript, and provide proof of native Hawaiian ancestry.
