Field Narrowed to 2 Finalists for Head of School Post

Officials at St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School say the field of candidates for the new Head of School post has been narrowed to two finalists.
One candidate is Betsey Gunderson, current Director of Curriculum at Maryknoll School, who was raised on Maui, school officials said.
According to information released by the school, Gunderson has 33 years of educational experience that also includes 10 years as principal at Maryknoll, member of the Hawaiʻi Association of Independent Schools, and holds a master’s degree in Education.
The other candidate is Adah Askew, former principal of Kula Schools in Na Kamalei Kauaʻi, and current participant in the 21st Century Community Learning Centers, school officials said.
Askew also has experience as a counselor, Development Director, Associate Director of Admissions and Dean of Students, according to officials at St. Anthony Junion-Senior High School.
Candidates for the new head-of-school post at St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School will be introduced Friday morning at a series of meet-and-greet sessions on campus.
Earlier this summer, school administrators announced plans to reshape the school’s governance in an effort to increase student enrollment, and improve overall school operations.
