Trade Wind Weather Brings Sunny, Breezy Days

The National Weather Service forecast calls for sunny conditions in Kahului, Maui today with a high near 88, and breezy conditions with northeast winds blowing at around 22 mph, and gusts up to 30 mph.

In East Maui, the NWS forecast calls for partly sunny skies, with a high near 81, and east winds blowing at around 13 mph.

According to the NWS forecast discussion, “moderate easterly trades and windward showers will persist over the next several days, with an increase rainfall expected Thursday night into Friday.”

Forecasters with the NWS say trades will become more east-northeasterly this weekend,with a possible increase in rainfall early next week.

Showers will likely remain over windward sections of the state into the weekend.
